Radha was interested in art from a very early part of her life. She initially studied graphic and web design, yet seized every opportunity to return to her first love of fine art.The process of reducing and simplifying forms, which is the essence of abstract art, is a continual source of satisfaction for her. According to her “Art is a window to harmony and color. I try to keep the pigments fresh, but simultaneously experiment with value and composition. Making art is a sort of catharsis, and it brings me joy and tranquility.”
Radha shares her knowledge and skill with students, teaching art at a school that she founded in 2001. It now boasts students of all ages and skill levels. Some have won awards and experienced their own successes under her tutelage. Her students are trained in drawing and painting in watercolor, acrylic, collage, mixed media, pastel, charcoal, and oil. Every year she organizes a Students’ Art show at the Plano Public library. Radha teaches watercolor classes at Artists' Showplace Gallery and from her home studio.
In 2005, she co-founded a group of nine artists to form Just Art.They paint and critique their art together, seeking to collectively grow in their creative pursuits.
Radha’s artwork won many awards over the years, in Southwestern Watercolor Society, Texas Visual Art Association, Associated Creative Artists, The Irving Art Association, and Richardson Civic Art Society.
