“I’m a painter of the natural world.  I paint mostly landscapes, especially Western landscapes, where I’m from. I paint light. Early morning light, late afternoon light. That’s when landscapes turn magical, when the very air seems to have a color. I try to capture that color and get it on canvas.”

I remember a poet once describing his work as “trying to make the ordinary seem extraordinary.”  That seems to be my aim as well. I try to make an everyday scene unique, catching it in a light that invites more than just a passing glance.
